Edit: Apparently this is a “Vertical Resaw” machine, I found an ad for model No. 210 & 215, which I will assume are the models that replaced this one.
Philly Trip Pt 2: It wouldn’t have been a first time Philly trip without hitting all of the famous spots like FDR. So we stopped by there for a session and finally met up with a few of the Guzzle homies from NYC. I Snapped a few photos of Jeff and then we went and got cheesesteaks at Tony Luke’s.
The next part of the trip is kind of a blur. The Skate Jawn 3 Year Anniversary party and the long awaited premiere of Kevin Winter’s video BRUNS. The evening started with us walking to the Jawn warehouse and drinking along the way. We crushed a bottle of New Amsterdam on the way there with the majority of it getting faced by Fuchs. Got there, met up with homies, shot the shit, drank from the keg, checked out the photo show, etc. I think there was a keg distributor next door or something because they kept showing up with new kegs, three total I think, maybe 4. Anyway the video finally starts and every trick landed results in a 15 second mosh pit fueled by open bottles of cheap champagne and thrown beers. The video was insane and is going to be an online favorite for everyone just as much as CCTV has been, if not more. After the video more drinking, half the Adidas team is there so we talk their heads off, some really weird girl is lugging around a massage chairs and offering massages to sweaty, beer soaked skateboarders. My crew splits back to the house and apparently a rampage ensued that I wasn’t a part of. I end up sticking around then hopping in Colin Sussingham’s Guzzle Island Tours van and staying with a homie of theirs.
We wake up the next day convinced last night was the most we had ever drank and walk around in slow motion for most of the day. Eventually hit a firestone to get more powersteering fluid for Jeff’s car then head out back to Richmond.
Thanks to Marcus and the Skate Jawn homies for throwing such a rad party and congrats on three years of being the best east coast zine out. Thanks Colin and guzzle for the hospitality, and thanks Matt Mckeen for putting us up for a few nights.
I took a solo trip to NYC this past weekend, and have another trip this weekend planned, trip pictures up soon.
Philly Trip Pt 1: Original plans to take my car bailed because I had tire issues I couldn’t get resolved in time. So Jeff let us ride along in his, which was favorable to a cramped egg. The ride up is smooth and fun then we get a battery light, check it out in the manual, and for some reason decide to continue on.
About an hour outside of Philly in Elkton, MD the car dies on the highway. We coast to the side, get AAA to tow us, then halfway figure out that it’s probably the alternator and we are going to have to stay over night and get it fixed the next morning.
We opt to walk next door to a closed down Denny’s and sleep in the back parking lot away from the view of the street so we can polish off a 1/2 bottle of Jameson to pass out. Next thing we know we are waking up to two of Elkton’s finest kicking us in our sides to wake us up. We explain the situation, they run our info and let us off.
We spend the next 5-6 hours sitting around at a Firestone to get the alternator and battery replaced. Finally we get shit moving after dealing with a bunch of inbred retards only to get a call 5 minutes later from the same Firestone with, “Hey there’s a puddle of power steering fluid in our lot, might be from your car, how’s your steering feel?” We continue on our way to Philly thinking it wasn’t ours and as soon as we get to Philly the power steering is shot. We meet up with Matt Mckeen at his place, skate to Pop’s skatepark for a hot session then dip back to the house to charge/chill.
